Stadium Plans

The San Antonio Scorpions and Soccer for a Cause are delighted at the amount of community support the team and the cause to assist special need individuals has received in the first two home games of the season. Currently we are averaging over 11,000 fans per game so the question has already been asked by fans and the media "is it time to move to phase 2 of the stadium". We are moving forward with the construction of the stadium and you will soon see many of the large three story towers reaching out from the site. Also, we have already started on the architectural plans for phase 2 of the stadium. Phase 2 will allow up to 9,000 seats along with additional restrooms and concession facilities. The plans will be complete and ready for construction after the end of the 2013 season. Therefore, if consistent fan attendance during the 2013 season justifies moving forward with immediate expansion we will do so in an effort to have construction 100% complete for the 2014 season. The buzz and excitement is deeply appreciated and we will continue to do everything we can to improve the fan experience going forward. Together, we ARE making a difference.

Construction of Scorpions Community Stadium is well under way on Thousand Oaks Drive across from Morgan's Wonderland. When the stadium opens for the 2013 North American Soccer League season, it will be San Antonio's premier outdoor sports and special-events venue.

The 6,100-seat stadium is being built with private funding and is ultimately expandable in stages to 18,000 seats. Stadium features include a grass playing field built to FIFA and NCAA specifications, luxury suites, a VIP lounge, a team merchandise store, a Bud Light Beer Garden, a large video scoreboard and shaded seating on the west side of the stadium.

Scorpions Community Stadium will further add to the excitement of pro soccer in San Antonio and South Texas. It will help the sport gain even greater popularity as well as generate financial support for non-profit Morgan's Wonderland, a unique and colorful family theme park that's completely wheelchair-accessible. Reserve your 2013 season seats today so you won't miss any action at Scorpions Community Stadium.
