Happy to be back in SA! Just finished the NASL Pro Player Combine in Ft. Lauderdale.
The 90-minute matches began on Friday and were made up of 65 players divided into four teams. It is typical that players play nervous, tight and are searching for ways to play with new teammates who don't even know each other's names. Rain was off and on but the fields held up well. Players from Argentina, Columbia, Ivory Coast, Haiti, England, Russia and the USA made strong efforts to impress the coaches representing all NASL teams.
Greetings Scorpions Fans!
Many of you have seen, participated in, or heard about the Scorpions Player Tryouts. We have now registered over 400 players through our 6 different sessions of tryouts. To provide you with more information, Hitch asked me to write a a brief blog describing the behind-the-scenes side of the Tryout that was held last week in Maryland.
I always enjoy a trip to LA. It's my old stomping ground. I lived here for three years when I worked for the LA Galaxy so I still have a lot of friends and colleagues in the area. I left San Antonio from an incredible two days of meetings (and the Scorpions Girls introduction party) on Thursday night.
