Scorpions to host series of events before home opener

The San Antonio Scorpions will host a series of events leading up to the inaugural home game against the Puerto Rico Islanders, April 15 as a part of Scorpions Week.

It all begins Tuesday, April 10 with the first installment of the Coach’s Show at the Quarry Golf Club, a unique interactive show featuring head coach Tim Hankinson. Scorpions fans will have the opportunity to get their questions answered by Coach Hankinson.  Fans can ask their questions in person or submit in advance via Facebook and Twitter.

On Wednesday between 7-9 pm the Scorpions will host a Kickoff Party at Lion & Rose (Stone Oak location).  President Michael Hitchcock and Scorpions Players will be in attendance.  The first 50 attendees will receive their first drink courtesy of the Scorpions. Specials include Bud Light mugs for $1.75. 

On Thursday, Scorpions fans will have the opportunity to receive a free lunch prepared by Scorpions players at McDonald’s (1604 and Potranco).  Fans that show up in their Scorpions gear will be eligible for the free lunch.

On Friday, the Scorpions will celebrate the success of Soccer for a Cause at Morgan’s Wonderland as a part of Scorpions Night.  Fans will have the opportunity to meet and receive autographs from the entire team and coaching staff. Fans can enjoy food from the seven food trucks in attendance and watch a live performance from the official Scorpions drumline. Free entrance is provided to fans who show any Scorpions Game Ticket at the door. Scorpions Game Tickets will be sold for $15 at the door for those who are in need.

All of the events will be a prelude to the North American Soccer League home opener for the Scorpions versus the Puerto Rico Islanders April 15 at 6 pm.
