Tim Hankinson’s team will look to take advantage of the 10,000 people that are expected to fill up Heroes Stadium, as the fixture in San Antonio will be the first road test for the Strikers.
The Scorpions are coming off a 0-4 loss to league leaders, Puerto Rico Islanders FC in front of a sold out stadium of 13,151 spectators. The team is still searching for its first goal in franchise history after creating multiple opportunities but failed to find the back of the net. The Scorpions drew 0-0 in their opening fixture against the Atlanta Silverbacks at Atlanta.
The Strikers were held to a 0-0 draw against the Minnesota Stars last weekend on their own turf. In the opening fixture of the NASL, the Strikers were victorious over FC Edmonton by the minimal margin of 1-0. The lone goal came courtesy of Andy Herron on an assist from Scott Lorenz.
The addition of former FC Dallas, Aaron Pitchkolan will be a boost for the Scorpions back line as he comes with vast experience in Major League Soccer.
